Beatrice & Thomas – September 29, 2019

Beatrice & Thomas were married at Aristide McKinney on September 29, 2019.

It was one of the most colorful and entertaining weddings to date! We began at a residence for the getting ready shots, a special ceremony, formal photos then headed to the venue for the ceremony and reception. I absolutely loved how they incorporated their children, music, and the color palette of blues & purples were gorgeous!! They had wedding traditions that were so fun!

A note from the bride:

We met at a fundraiser in Arlington Texas. We had our first date at a Boston Market and continue to have lunch at the same location several times a year. We have two kids together and on February 16th 2019, Thomas got on His knee and proposed to me at the Mercury Steakhouse in Arlington, Texas. It was the best day ever and a start of a beautiful journey to 9/29/2019.

Alison & Donnie – September 28, 2019

A note from the bride:

We met at Smoke Monkey BBQ in rockwall. His sister and brother and law had a dessert stand there that they were in charge of. He was up there visiting them and happened to be standing there when I walked up to order from them. He looked very familiar, and I found out later we were mutual friends on Instagram. He liked my photo that night, then I messaged him and the rest is history! 🙂
Donnie knew the 50 acres I grew up on in Terrell, Texas was & will always be one of my favorite places and quickly became one of his. In February 2019, he asked me to go to dinner with a couple of friends. I had woke up that morning sick as a dog, but he convinced me they had something very important to discuss over dinner so we could not cancel, so we went. On the way home, he asked, “Can I show them the land in Terrell?” I thought to myself, it is dark outside so I’m not sure how much he’s going to show them but sure! So I told him, of course! We get to the road it is on and he stops the truck, gets out, and says he needed to “check the tire pressure.” He then opened my door and handed me a blindfold and told me to put it on. I refused. My exact words were, “I fixed my hair today, I’m not putting that on!” After some convincing from the friends we were with, I put it on and told Donnie “Good, that means I don’t have to get out and get the gate!” After pulling in, I was escorted out of the truck (still blindfolded) and was walked up towards where Donnie was standing. After being given the okay, I took the blindfold off and there stood all my closest family and friends lined up on each side of a lit up path leading up to Donnie in front of the pond. I ugly cried. I finally made my way up to Donnie, where he got down on one knee (for .5 seconds) and asked me to marry him. I (very quickly) SAID YES!

Emily & Van – 8-17-19

A note from the bride:

We met at a food and wine festival on May 2, 2014. We went on our first date one week later and have been together ever since. Van proposed on a family vacation in traverse City Michigan. He took me to the top of a lighthouse for the proposal. We had lunch at a super cute, small cottage restaurant just the two of us following the engagement. He had the engagement planned for months prior and I thought he was never going to propose! It was a HUGE surprise!

This wedding was so beautiful with lots of fun! These are only SOME of the shots from the big day!!

Madison & Blake – 6-2-19

A note from the bride ~

My fiance and I met our first semester at UNT in Fall of 2013. We both lived at West hall on campus. Blake only lived at the hall and went to UNT for one semester and then joined the army in 2014. I almost did not get to attended UNT at the time depending on financial aid. Lucky for us it was in God’s will for our paths to cross when they did. We became acquantices at the time who said hello and carried on small talk while we both lived at West hall. We added each other on social media that same year. Once he left for the army we lost touch for about a year. Once some time had passed we started talking again via social media in fall 2014/spring 2015. We kept in touch for 2 years. We talked almost every day, at times we went without talking for a month or so here and there but majority of the time we had some form of communication daily while he was stationed in Hawaii for the remainder of his time in the army. We were still just acquaintances but we were somehow a little more because we knew each other’s daily routines, friend groups, etc. While we were thousands of miles away, we always talked about me visiting him in Hawaii but never actually got to make that happen (got close once but didn’t pan out). We also talked about showing each other our favorite spots, hanging out once he got home, and what the future looked like for each of us individually (but also prying to see if the other fit into our life plan, hoping this would be it). Once he returned home in fall 2017 he asked me on a date (without telling me where we were going- so natrually I freak out and don’t know what to wear). He took me to the drive in movies that night in Fort Worth where we had our first official date and hoping it would be a movie ending for us
instead of an awkward disaster. Lucky for us it was in God’s will again for that to be our last first date.
The proposal was exactly one year after our first date at the exact same location, the drive in movies in Fort Worth. We had already planned on going back for our one year date but little did I know it was the day he asked my father for his blessing and then carried on to ask me to be his wife. That night he took me to our favorite sushi place before the movies. We found our spot for the movie and he surprised me with roses and chocolate covered strawberries (and I thought that was the big surprise for the night). We knew we wanted to take a picture in front of the movie screen in between the double feature. So after the first movie he asked the “strangers” next to us to take our picture. As we were taking it I noticed he wouldn’t stop staring at me so I asked if he was ever going to look at the camera, to my surprise he said no. Instead he continued to say the sweetest words. He would always joke about getting engaged in 10 years so he mentioned how he just couldn’t wait another day and got down on one knee!!! We spent the whole second movie in the truck face timing all of our family!
