Marissa & Jared’s preview blog – Engagement session in Deep Ellum

Marissa & Jared very recently got engaged and are starting the wedding planning as we speak.

Originally she wanted outdoors and nature but after I provided her with a list of my favorite locations they decided on Deep Ellum. There are many murals in Deep Ellum I absolutely love, some have just gone up in recent months so I was excited to see what was new.

Here are my favorites from today’s session 🙂

Wedding blog – Carina & Tai

In December 2016 Carina & Tai met on a dating site. They shared weeks of phone conversations getting to know each other then finally went out on their first date.A little over a year later on NYE 2017, Tai proposed to Carina and of course she said yes!

He wanted their wedding to be perfect so she let him choose the venue and what a beautiful venue it was. They chose Reflections on Spring Creek in Plano, the decor to the floral it was simply breathtaking and you could feel the love from beginning to end, I mean truly, these two are madly in love <3

Wedding previews – Rebecca & Joseph

Rebecca & Joseph were married this morning at Bob Woodruff Park in Plano, TX under the most amazing large trees and surrounded by family and close friends. It was short and sweet, such a perfect day!

Note from the bride:

Joseph and I are childhood best friends. We’ve know each other 20+ years now but didn’t start dating until about 4 years ago. This is his first wedding and will be my 2nd/last. It truly is awesome that somehow we fell in love with our best friends. We are a goofy and our family is a little quirky but we are super easy going and like to have fun so this should be an easy shoot.

Year of the brides styled shoot

I had this dream to bring my former brides together for a styled shoot, it was really pretty difficult trying to coordinate schedules with each of the brides and all 15 vendors I had planned on using so I ended up doing something on a lower scale and loved the outcome so much. I shoot around 50+ weddings each year so trying to bring in all former brides together on the same day, well I can dream 🙂 Some were expecting, some just had babies, many already preserved their gowns and a few sadly even trashed their dresses due to divorce 🙁

4 former brides, strangers to each other who instantly turned friends. Each bride has a story, they are different ages, some have kids and some do not. I first had them meet at one of my very favorite hair and makeup salons for the pampering. My vision was for each bride to have a different look according to an era (1940’s bride, 1950’s, etc)

After hair & makeup, they got into their original gowns and then my jewelry vendor provided them each with gorgeous earrings, bracelets, rings and even hair accessories.

We then headed to Prather Park in Dallas to start shooting and that is where one of my favorite florists met us with the most stunning bouquets! I posed each girl, shooting individual shots, two’s and group shots, focusing on details of jewelry, hair and makeup. What a gorgeous day and gorgeous turnout!

What will my next idea be? Stay tuned…

Maggie & Matt’s wedding previews – March 31, 2018

Maggie and Matt’s Story

Matt and Maggie met in 2013. They had their first date at Giuseppe’s in Denton and talked until the restaurant closed. They didn’t talk for awhile after that, but eventually they found each other again and the rest is history! They ended up spending a lot of time with each other and enjoy hiking, reading and relaxing together. In the summer of 2015, they adopted a weenie dog named Sawyer to serve as a little brother to Maggie’s pup, Hector. They moved in together in the fall of 2015 and decided to buy a house in 2017. Now they’re beginning their happily-ever-after.
The Proposal

On a family vacation to New Jersey with Maggie’s extended family, Matt decided to pop the question under the fireworks on the 4th of July. The beach, family time, and now a fiance, it was a vacation to remember!

Katy & Dennis – March 29, 2018 at The Springs Rockwall

Katy and Dennis were married at The Springs Event Venue in Rockwall, TX.

Dennis and Katy grew up in the small towns of Princeton and Farmersville and went to rival high schools. Dennis was very active in sports and dance and Katy was involved in cheerleading and dance. They had never met until a mutual friend suggested that they had similar interests. Once their paths crossed  junior year of high school, the rest was history! They moved to Los Angeles after graduation and have been pursuing the fitness and entertainment industry ever since. Their dance background plays a huge role in how they met and they continue to share that passion with each other. They also enjoy travel and adventure, and they have exciting things planned for their future together. March 29th, 2018 will be their 5th anniversary.

Dennis proposed to Katy on Christmas Eve in 2016, he surprised her along with friends and family on her way home from the airport for the holidays. A link to the proposal video is attached below.

Katy’s bridals at the Dallas Arboretum

I can finally show off Katy’s gorgeous bridals we did at the Dallas Arboretum a couple of months ago. She was stunning in her gown from Leann’s Bridal and her mother’s original veil. The beautiful bouquet from Petals & Pearls Unique Designs complimented everything so nicely.

Katy & Dennis were married last night at The Springs Venue in Terrell, TX

Engagement session at the Dallas Arboretum – Courtnie & Jonathan

I will be photographing Courtnie & Jonathan’s wedding in July at the Las Colinas Country Club. This morning we met at the Dallas Arboretum. I actually prefer to shoot in overcast rather than sunlight so I was thrilled when I looked outside this morning as I was preparing to leave.

If you have not been to the Arboretum during their Dallas Blooms, you must go, gorgeous tulips and flowers all over the garden! You still have until April 8, 2018 to do so

Here are some of the best shots from the session!
