Fall family session at the Dallas Arboretum

I have photographed this couple and their two kids since 2014.
They are celebrating their 14th wedding anniversary and wanted new photos. When I first met them I did their 10 year! This time she had her bouquet recreated to look like the one from her wedding day

Our first date (suppose to be just dinner) turned into 5 hours of us talking and laughing . We had instant chemistry. Over the following weeks, my heart told me I had found the man I wanted to marry. I knew within two weeks I was in love. I confided in my MOH Becca’s MOH that I felt it strongly. She too knew within weeks when she met the one, and although I never ever believed in that – deep down I knew. Hamid slipped up and told me he loved me on our 6th date. My shocked expression said it all, “too soon!?” He asked,”too soon” I responded. On that drive home I realized in fact, it didn’t feel too soon. It felt right. Over the coming months between his final year of his PhD and immense struggles within my family, we grew stronger. The adversity made us realize we were great life partners. We got engaged just after Christmas. Setting our date for almost 2 years out. Upon my moms cancer diagnosis, we moved the wedding to the time window doctors advised. We have received so much generosity, love and support. We thank you for being on this this journey with us!
Kara’s mother was diagnosed May 1st, 2018 with a brain tumor and as of May 7th, diagnosed with Stage IV Glioblastoma (or GMB), with the tumor in her left temporal lobe (the area of the brain affecting speech and cognition). A majority of the vendors listed below were brought in by Brandi McComb Photography and every vendor either donated their services free or offered very generous discounts for the family.

From the bride:
Once he put the ring on I heard the back door open. I looked and it was my dad walking out. My dad moved to Laredo for work a few years ago so it was so special to me that Ethan had coordinated to get him in town to be there. Ethan had managed to get both my parents, my grandparents and my local aunt, uncle and cousin plus his entire family to his house without me suspecting anything. After everyone came out of hiding the photographer took some pictures of our soon to be combined family!
Interesting fact about Anna? She was the title holder of Miss McKinney in 2012 and competed for Miss Texas.

Vendors:

When I graduated from the academy, I proudly posted a “selfie” in uniform on social media. Well, it didn’t take long for Brian to start poking at my badge number or how “shiny and clean” my badge was.
Being the sarcastic person I am, I couldn’t let it go and some time later I convinced him to help me with a few things at work. Well, he still helps me with stuff at work but not as much anymore.
3 years of trips to Missouri, kayaking, hiking and date nights that somehow always ended up at a hibachi steakhouse… Oh, and can’t forget having three of the most “special” lab mix dogs that obviously rule the house. Here we are, incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to get married in front of all of our closest friends and family.

Last night I shot a 39th surprise birthday for Jonathan Rosen at Ferris Wheelers Backyard & BBQ
It was a party of around 30+ friends and family put on by his girlfriend Jordan, my favorite monkey you ever did see was there to surprise him! Miki the Monkey LOVES his dum dum suckers and helping blow out birthday candles!! The birthday boy was surrounded by friends and family who had such an amazing time! Some of the guests got on the big ferris wheel which always makes for great photos!
I have said it before, this is the BEST BBQ I have ever tasted! If you have not yet been you must try this place out! Great atmosphere, they have plenty of room for parties, events, they even have bands (big stage out back) and let’s not forget the ferris wheel.
Owner Doug Pickering was there greeting guests as usual, hung out with Miki the Monkey and served up the best BBQ in Texas!! Ferris Wheelers Backyard BBQ is located at 1950 Market Center Blvd. On the menu, you can expect “Texas staples such as brisket, ribs, house-made sausage, honey-brined smoked turkey breast and Carolina-style pork shoulder,” according to a press release. “The Southern-influenced sides include smoked BBQ beans, smoked green beans, BBQ mac & cheese, jalapeño bacon cole slaw and Southwestern potato salad.”

Lindsey & Andrew were married on 9/2/18 at Rustic Grace Estate.
They met in 2014 after love at first text when Lindsey agreed to join Drew for a Mexican dinner at La Vista.. Despite Lindsey’s best efforts of poisoning Drew with guacamole on their first date due to a severe allergy, they both survived the nerve-racking first date jitters. Shortly after, we began dating and living with one another. Because of our unique situation, with both of us having kids from previous relationships, our journey took off a bit faster than we could have imagined. The laughs and cries we shared together, paired with our daughters sisterly love for one another, made this unorthodox fairy tale, a dream come true. Without skipping a beat, we began living life as a four person family and selflessly devoting our love, time and effort to each other. Now, three years later, after the fine dining of nachos and margaritas, Drew took a leap of faith and got down on one knee. We have decided to vow our love to each other until death do us part, and we cannot think of any better way to do it than with our amazing family and friends.

Shelby & Tayler will be married in October
