Dallas child/teen session – Murals

It’s St Patrick’s Day and my girls are on Spring Break, they decided they didn’t want to leave town this year so we have been doing local fun stuff all week. Today I asked them if they would be my models and go drive around Dallas looking for cool murals to pose in front of.  They both chose a few outfits and we hit the road. My youngest wanted to try without her glasses, it was tough but we made it work <3 We didn’t get to finish because of the rain so we will do another shoot next weekend 🙂

I have shot in Deep Ellum for over 10 years and love the walls down there but I wanted to try and find something different for my future clients, boy did I find some amazing walls!! It took hours of driving and adding locations to my log of session addresses but so worth it. I even found some hidden between buildings and in garages. The girls loved it plus we found a cute little hamburger joint we stopped at for lunch 🙂

The Daniels family previews

There are so many times new clients come my way, they may find me on Facebook or through my website, word of mouth, etc. Most of the time I have no idea what they look like or their personalities, I simply arrive and we meet for the very first time and in that moment I must get to know them, make them feel comfortable and especially when working with kids who simply do not like their photo taken, I create an atmosphere of joy and laughter and in the end I get some of the best shots!

Here are some of my favorites.

Ashley & Kirk – November 17, 2017 wedding previews

How they met ~

Kirk and Ashley met on a dating app back in May of 2013. They talked for just a day or two before Ashley suggested to grab drinks on a Friday night after work. Kirk was living in Garland, and Ashley in Denton, so the couple met halfway at BJ’s Brewhouse in Lewisville, Texas. At the time, Kirk was working out constantly and was ready for his third dinner at 10pm, while Ashley was not really hungry. Kirk suggested an appetizer so Ashley picked spinach and artichoke dip which was her favorite. Kirk on the other hand was not a fan of the dip, but ended up eating the whole thing when Ashley had just one bite. Both were nervous, but talked until they were kicked out of the restaurant at closing. The couple then sat on the curb outside the restaurant talking for hours until the sun started to rise. The rest is history…

The proposal ~

It was December 16, 2016. Kirk took Ashley to Urban Crust, one of the first places they went to after moving to Plano. The couple got their favorite meals, along with a nice bottle of wine. After dinner the couple headed to the jeep. Kirk planned to just put the food in the jeep to then propose by the downtown Plano Christmas tree. This was not expressed to Ashley, so of course she just hopped in the jeep. Frustrated, Kirk abruptly said, “get out.” Ashley was very confused and asked why. Kirk said since we took a picture our first year here, with the tree, we needed to this year. Ashley agreed, so the couple headed to the large Christmas tree. Once they got to the tree, Kirk got down on one knee, having Ashley surprised he knelt down on the wet concrete. Using her full name, Kirk asked Ashley to marry him. Ashley immediately said yes.

Breathtaking wedding, it was simply beautiful from start to finish!
